Game show gone wild

What has become our nation? A stampede wherein more than 70 people died and hundreds injured... and for what? a TV show?

Has our nation been deduced to nothing than a desperate mob waiting for the chance of a limetime?

Given all the variables, the amount of people who lined up to join and the limited prizes makes that chance almost seem like 1 in a million (or maybe even a billion!)

PR- wise, the abomination that happened last saturday only strengthens the claim of the shows popularity and affinity to the masses. Like they always say, "There's no such thing as bad PR".

Unfortunately, as it may have proved to be positive news for the station, in a macro perspective, it puts the country to shame. The population is composed largely of the masses. And in an instance, they showed/expressed the poverty level of the country by the mere size of the crowd that waited outside the Ultra. All the more the desperation they felt by rushing towards the gates putting the elderly and children in danger.

Maybe its not even a matter of desperation. Laziness maybe? Are we putting truth on how other countries percieve us?

Are we really "Juan Tamad's" just waiting for that damn mango to drop to our mouths?

- Live like there's no tomorrow. Love like it's your last.
