query

Would a relationship be "happily ever after" after ending said relationship and then getting it back again?
Change would be inevitable. An adjustment period maybe from the shock of the so-called "break-up". But how big of a change and how long will it take?

Of gucci's and G.I. Joe's

More than a month ago, (or maybe less) my brother's visa arrived. From the time that he quit his job until our final goodbyes at the airport it's only now in his absence that i feel like crying.

My brother and i are close... and at the same time hate each other. We are the epitome of a cliche brother and sister relationship. Younger, i was never allowed to go out to play at the park because my mom didn't want me getting dark from the sun. I was left to play with my older brother and his G.I. Joe's. Fights became more frequent when i was a teenager, graduating from high school and him being in college. I had my boyfriend (then) and he had a girlfriend. Fights were usually about who gets to use the phone first. Other more "adult-type" of fights came after that. Petty nonetheless.

Despite the constant quarrels between us, we still found ways to confide to each other-- YB at the park, food, YB at starbucks, more food, takas YB at malls, etc.

For the past few weeks, my parents wanted to maximize "family time". We had our official studio family pic, dinners after dinners... but it never really sunk in that he was leaving. Australia may seem so far away but it didn't feel like it.

I know sob stories of families crying at the airport bidding their last farewell to their family member. I even saw one family leaving with their eyes puffy from crying. But we didn't. Everyone in the family probably though the same way i did-- "magkikita pa naman eh...".

But as i drove away from the parking lot, i realized that he'll no longer be in the next room snoring, nor can i wake him up tomorrow morning to ask him to drive me to starbucks. I won't have my yosi partner anymore who scolds me cause i smoke too much.

It's sad. I lost my date every Sunday. Worse! I can't say "he did it!" anymore...

Note: There's a picture of me and my brother at the bottom of my site. It was taken in Batangas. He left this evening at 8 to Australia where his fiance is. They're getting married next year.
